Lethbridge – Following a conference wide bye in the Canada West women's hockey schedule, the Lethbridge Pronghorns return to action to face southern Alberta rival Mount Royal Cougars in a home-and-home series.
The weekend set kicks off Friday at the Flames Community Arena in Calgary with the series concluding Saturday night at Nicholas Sheran Arena. Puck drops both nights at 7:00pm and both games will be streamed live on

Both teams enter the weekend riding a two-game losing streak, with the 'Horns (2-5-1-2) being swept by the U Sports top ranked UBC Thunderbirds. The Cougars (2-6-0-2), who are two points behind the Pronghorns for sixth place, were swept by the Saskatchewan Huskies.
The 'Horns and the Cougars are two of lowest scoring teams in the conference, the 'Horns have scored the third fewest goals this season at 18, while the Cougars have scored the second fewest, only scoring 14 goals in 10 games.
Defensively, the Cougars (25) have allowed seven fewer goals against than the 'Horns (32) and statistically speaking it looks like the Cougars hold the advantage on specialty teams. The Cougars hold the fourth ranked power play (16.1%) and penalty killing (85.4%) units. The 'Horns are ranked sixth in penalty killing (81.7%) and seventh on the power play (9.1%).
Offensively, the 'Horns are led by Mackenzie Gal with three goals and three assists. Jenae Culp sits second with a goal and four assists.
For the Cougars, Sarah Weninger leads the way with five goals and an assist, while Gabrielle Seper sits second with three goals and two assists.
In the crease, Alicia Anderson has started eight straight games for the 'Horns and holds a 2.95 goals-against-average. Emma Pincott has played majority of the games for the Cougars but freshman Zoe Debeauville has the better numbers. In four games, Debeauville holds a stingy 1.77 GAA and a 0.934 save percentage. Pincott sits at a 2.35 GAA.
The 'Horns head out on the road next weekend, traveling to Edmonton to face the Alberta Pandas.
