The 'Horns (2-3-1) split their first home games of the season this past weekend, dropping a close 3-2 decision to the CIS fourth ranked Alberta Golden Bears, before beating the MacEwan Griffins 2-0 on Sunday.
The 'Horns have scored 10 goals in six games and have had six different players register a goal this season. Stephen Primeau leads the way with three goals, while Mike Weigle and Kendell Wiens have each scored twice.
Reigning Canadian College Athletic Association (CCAA) Soccer player of the year Nico Pasquotti has had an immediate impact since moving across the river from Lethbridge College and is tied for second in assists in Canada West with three.
Both the WolfPack and the Heat officially joined the Canada West soccer ranks for the 2014 season and this weekend will be the inaugural match up with both schools.
Saturday's opponent, the WolfPack (2-4-0) split their series last weekend at home versus the UNBC Timberwolves, losing the opening match 3-2 before rebounding with a 3-0 shutout.
The WolfPack rely heavily on a pair of players for their offensive production as Justin Donaldson (4 goals) and Ryan Glanville (4 goals) have accounted for 80% of the WolfPack's goals this season.
The Heat (1-2-1), who the 'Horns face Sunday, are coming off their bye week, but lost both of their games two weeks ago, losing 1-0 to the Trinity Western Spartans and 3-0 to the UFV Cascades.
The Heat have only scored two goals in four games, Luke Warkentin and Spence Young have each scored once.
Next weekend, the 'Horns will return to home field to host the Victoria Vikes and UBC Thunderbirds.
