Lethbridge – Following a home-and-home weekend to open the season, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's hockey team will host a pair of games this coming weekend, welcoming the Saskatchewan Huskies to town.

The Pronghorns and Huskies will hit the ice at Nicholas Sheran Arena Friday and Saturday night at 7:00pm. Both games will also be streamed live on http://canadawest.yaretv.com/.

During their season opening weekend, the Pronghorns (1-1-0) were on either end of 1-0 games, opening the season at home with a thrilling 1-0 win in double overtime, before dropping a 1-0 decision in regulation time in Calgary versus the Dinos.

Mackenzie Gal scored the lone Pronghorns goal on the weekend, scoring with just over two minutes remaining in the second overtime Friday night.

Stalwart Alicia Anderson was in goal for both games last weekend and stopped 53 of 54 shots over the two games.

Also beginning the season last weekend, the Huskies (1-1-0) opened with a weekend split as well in a home-and-home series with provincial rival Regina Cougars. Both teams won on the road, with the Cougars taking game one in Saskatoon 3-2, before the Huskies returned the favor with a 4-3 win in Regina.

Emily Upgang and Bailee Bourassa both scored twice to pace the Huskies, while goaltenders Jen Kish and Chloe Marshall split the goaltending duties. Marshall made 29 saves to pick up the win on Saturday.

The Pronghorns will compete next in another home-and-home series with the Mount Royal Cougars, starting Friday night in Calgary.
