Lethbridge – With only three weeks remaining in the Canada West women's soccer schedule, the Lethbridge Pronghorns face southern Alberta rival Calgary Dinos in a home-and-home series that could go a long way in determining playoff positioning.
The weekend set begins Saturday afternoon in Calgary with the back half of the series returning to Lethbridge Sunday. Kick-off for both games is scheduled for 12:00pm. Sunday's game will also be streamed live on

Heading into this weekend's action, the Pronghorns (3-4-1) trail the Dinos (3-2-3) by two points for fourth in the Prairie Division and are only four points out of second place. The Pronghorns are also two points ahead of Manitoba and six points ahead of both Regina and Winnipeg. Top six teams in the Prairie Division qualify for playoffs.
In their last action, the Pronghorns split their two games at home, beating the Winnipeg Wesmen 1-0 before falling 3-0 to the 2017 U SPORTS Championship host Manitoba Bisons.
Through eight games this season, the Pronghorns have an even goal differential, scoring 10 goals, while also allowing 10 goals against.
Lindsay Amatto's game winning goal last Saturday was her team leading fourth goal of the season. She also sits tied for seventh on the conference's goal scoring leaderboard. Fifth-years Kayla Blacquiere and Nikki Furukawa each have scored two goals this season.
Last weekend, the Dinos earned four points, playing to a scoreless draw with the Bisons and beating the Wesmen 2-0.
Statistically, the Dinos are an interesting team to look at. Through eight games, they have scored 10 goals and only allowed three against, but seven of their goals for have come in two games. They have played in two scoreless games and been shutout in both of their losses.
Fourth-year forward Maddison Fritzke has accounted for half of the Dinos output this season and is tie for third in conference goal scoring with five goals.
Defensively, the Dinos three goals allowed is tied for the fewest in the conference and haven't allowed more than one goal in any game this season, including five clean sheets. Goalkeeper Lauren Houghton has played in all eight games and sits third in both goals against-average (0.38) and save percentage (0.925).
The Pronghorns head out on the road next weekend, traveling west to face the Thompson Rivers WolfPack and UBCO Heat.
