Pronghorns wrap up season in Saskatoon

Lethbridge - For the first time in a month, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's hockey team won't face a nationally ranked opponent and will head out on the road looking to play spoiler in Saskatoon versus the Saskatchewan Huskies.

The Pronghorns (3-19-1-3) just completed a stretch of playing national ranked teams in three consecutive weeks and last weekend versus the seventh ranked Alberta Pandas, the Pronghorns played the Pandas tough but dropped a pair of close games, 4-2 and 4-3.
 
Entering the final series of the regular season, the Huskies (9-10-4-3) are in a battle with the Regina Cougars for fourth place and home ice in the first round of the playoffs. Currently the Huskies are one point ahead of the Cougars.
 
Look at the teams statistically
 
The Pronghorns have scored the fewest goals in Canada West, scoring 36 times in 26 games are are tied for the most goals allowed with 86 goals against. The Huskies sit in the middle of the pack in both categories and have scored and surrendered 51 goals this season.
 
On specialty teams, the Pronghorns are ranked one place ahead of the Huskies with the power play, sitting in sixth (11.4%). The Huskies operate at 10.3%. Penalty killing is a different story with the Huskies ranked second (90.5%) compared to the Pronghorns ranked seventh (78.6%).
 
Players to watch
 
In all likelihood, the two most worked goaltenders in the conference will square off this weekend. Huskie Cassidy Hendricks has played the most minutes this season and is second to Pronghorn Alicia Anderson in saves. Anderson has made 787 saves this season, while Hendricks has stopped 529 pucks.
 
Kaitlin Willoughby and Lauren Zary lead the Huskie attack with 19 points each. Willoughby has nine goals and Zary leads the Huskies with 14 assists. Tricia Van Vaerenbergh is the top scoring Pronghorn with five goals and five assists. Mackenzie Gal and Jodi Gentile each have eight points
