LETHBRIDGE – After being officially eliminated from Canada West post-season contention with a loss last Sunday, the Lethbridge Pronghorn men's soccer team will close out the 2018 Canada West season this weekend hosting the Calgary Dinos and Mount Royal Cougars.

The Pronghorns and Dinos will face-off Thursday night at 6:00 pm and then take on the Cougars Sunday afternoon at 2:15 pm. Both games will be streamed live on www.canadawest.tv.

Heading into the final two games of the season, the Pronghorns (0-9-3) will try to play spoiler this weekend and look for their first win of the season.

Late game goals against have hurt the Pronghorns this season. Four times at home, the Pronghorns have allow a goal in the final minutes to either end with a tie or loss. This past Saturday, the Pronghorns allowed a goal in the final two minutes and had to settle for a 2-2 tie with the Huskies.

Heading into his final weekend as a Pronghorn, Stephen Primeau is tied for the team's goal scoring lead with two. Ellis Davies picked up his second goal of the season on Sunday in a 2-1 loss to the Huskies.

Captain Sean Gaiesky, Blake Pipke and Thomas Hammerton will also play their final games as a Pronghorn this week.

For the Dinos (5-6-1) the two games this week are of the utmost importance. While the Dinos have already secured a playoff spot, they will be battling for playoff positioning. Currently in second place, the Dinos can finish anywhere from second to fourth. Second place equals a home playoff day, while third or fourth would be a date with one of the top two teams in the Pacific Division.

Derek Brust and Dominik Zuczek lead the Dinos in goals with three apiece.

Earlier this season the Dinos beat the Pronghorns 3-0 in Calgary.

The Mount Royal Cougars (4-7-1) are in a fight for the final playoff spots. The Cougars and Huskies are tied in wins with four, while MacEwan is one game back and one of the three teams will not make the post-season dance.

Offensively, the Cougars Orest Ndabaneze leads the team in goals with four, while Tysen Chatani and Moe El Gandour sit second on the Cougars with two goals each.
