LETHBRIDGE – Two teams looking to put an end to losing streaks, the Lethbridge Pronghorns and Calgary Dinos are set to clash in a home-and-home series, beginning Friday night in Calgary.

Puck drops both Friday night at Father David Bauer and Saturday night at Nicholas Sheran Arena in Lethbridge at 7:00 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on www.canadawest.tv.

A Look at the teams:

After opening the season with a win over the UBC Thunderbirds, the Pronghorns (1-4-0-1) have lost five straight games but earned a single point in a 1-0 overtime loss to the Saskatchewan Huskies last Friday night.

For the Dinos (0-5-0-1) the start to the Canada West season has been less than ideal, dropping their first six games and have only picked up one point in the standings in a 2-1 loss to the Huskies two weeks ago.

The two game set also pits the two lowest scoring teams in Canada West against each other. Through six games, the Pronghorns have scored seven goals for, while the Dinos have scored only four times and have been shutout in their last two games.

The Dinos have allowed the most goals against in the conference with 19, while the Pronghorns are ranked fifth in goals against, allowing 12.

Players to watch:

Fourth-year goaltender Alicia Anderson gives the Pronghorns a chance to win every night. She once again leads Canada West in total saves with 183 in five games. She also holds a 1.83 goals-against average and a stellar 0.951 save percentage.

Offensively, the 'Horns are led by Tricia Van Vaerenbergh, who has been involved in four of the Pronghorns seven goals this year, scoring three times and adding one assist.

For the Dinos, goaltending is a key as well as Kelsey Roberts sits second in saves behind Anderson with 178. She also sports a 2.33 goals-against average and a 0.933 save percentage.

Offensively, Freshman Elizabeth Lang has been involved in all four Dino goals this season, scoring three of them, while assisting on the other. She sits second among freshman scorers in Canada West as well.

Next week is a conference bye for both men's and women's hockey, the Pronghorns will return to action the following weekend, traveling to Winnipeg to face the defensing U SPORTS Champion Manitoba Bisons.
