A look at the teams:

Following a disappointing weekend in their last action, the Pronghorns (3-9-2) enter the weekend mired in a six-game losing streak and now find themselves seven points out of a playoff spot. The Pronghorns dropped two one-goal games to the Mount Royal Cougars in a home-and-home series.

Through 14 games, the Pronghorns have scored the second fewest goals in Canada West with 15, while allowing 33 goals against.

One area that has been strong for the Pronghorns thus far is the play of their penalty killing units, which is ranked third in Canada West, operating at 89.6%.

UBC enters the final conference weekend of 2018 riding a three-game winning streak after sweeping the Regina Cougars last weekend in Regina.

UBC, one of the top scoring teams in the conference, has tallied 32 goals for this season and have allowed the third fewest against at 20 in 14 games. The Thunderbirds specialty teams are ranked fourth in both categories (PP – 13.8 % PK – 87.7%).

The Pronghorns and Thunderbirds split the season opening series in Vancouver earlier in October with the Pronghorns winning the first game 2-0 before UBC rebounded for a 3-1 the next day.

Players to watch:

Tricia Van Vaerenbergh continues to lead the Pronghorns in scoring with five goals and two assists. Her five goals is tied for fourth in Canada West goal scoring.

For the Thunderbirds, Norway product Mathea Fischer leads the Thunderbirds in scoring with three goals and seven assists, while fourth-year forward Hannah Clayton-Carroll sits one point behind Fischer with four goals and five assists.

In the crease, the Thunderbirds have platooned Tory Micklash and Amelia Boughn in goal but Micklash has the better of the two numbers. In nine appearances Micklash sits second in Canada West in goals-against (0.84) and save percentage (0.959%).
