LETHBRIDGE – Beginning a stretch of four straight road games, the Lethbridge Pronghorn men's soccer team heads west this weekend looking for their first win of the season. The Pronghorns will travel to Prince George and Victoria to take on two Pacific Division opponents.

Friday night, the Pronghorns face the UNBC Timberwolves in Prince George, kick-off is slated at 6:00 PM PT. Sunday afternoon, the Pronghorn will take on the Victoria Vikes at 1:00 PM PT. Both games will be streamed live on www.canadawest.tv.

A Look at the Teams

Through the first three weekends of the season, the Pronghorns (0-5-1) have shown flashes of quality play but giving up late goals have cost the 'Horns valuable points.

Last Saturday was a perfect example of this, the Pronghorn put forth a dominating performance against the UBCO Heat for more than 80 minutes, outshooting the Heat 16-5 but allowed a goal in stoppage time and had to settle for a 1-1 tie.

In six games this season, the Pronghorns have only scored 3 times, while allowing 14 goals against.

The UNBC Timberwolves (1-1-2) have played only four games thus far and earned their first win of the season last weekend with a solid road win, 3-0 over the Saskatchewan Huskies. UNBC has also tied Trinity Western (3-3) and Victoria (1-1). The Timberwolves loss was a 2-1 decision at home to Trinity Western.

In four games, the Timberwolves have scored eight times and allowed six goals against.

To say the Victoria Vikes (2-2-3) start to the 2018 season has been a roller coaster would be an understatement. The Vikes opened the season with 7-1 and 4-0 losses to the Trinity Western Spartans and Fraser Valley Cascades respectively but are undefeated in their last four games, including a 3-1 win over the MacEwan Griffins last weekend.

The Vikes have allowed the most goals against in Canada West with 19 but have scored 12 goals in seven games.
