LETHBRIDGE – Following two straight weeks on the road, the Lethbridge Pronghorns return to their home turf to host a pair of Saskatchewan schools in the Regina Cougars and Saskatchewan Huskies.
Kick-off for both games is slated for noon at the University Community Stadium. Both games will also be streamed live on
www.canadawest.tv.
The young Pronghorns (0-5-1) continues to search for their first win of the season but did earn their first point last Sunday with a 1-1 tie with the Winnipeg Wesmen. The Pronghorns dropped a 4-1 decision to the Manitoba Bisons the day before.
After being held scoreless in their first four games the Pronghorns scored once in each of their games last weekend. Freshman Hailey Waterhouse scored her first career Canada West goal last Saturday, while senior Lindsay Amatto scored on Sunday to earn the Pronghorns a tie.
The Cougars (1-4-1) come into the weekend off a 2-1 loss to the Mount Royal Cougars and an impressive 0-0 tie with the Prairie Division leading Alberta Pandas.
In six games this season, the Cougars have scored five times and are led by Kikita Senko and Kyra Vibert, who have each scored twice this season.
Sunday's opponent, the Saskatchewan Huskies (0-2-4) are also in search of their first win of the season but have four points in the standings on four ties. In their last action, the Huskies suffered their first two losses the season, dropping 2-1 and 3-0 decisions to the Alberta Pandas and Mount Royal Cougars respectively.
Offensively, the Huskies are led by Cassidy Hayward and Payton Izsak have each scored twice this season.
