LETHBRIDGE – Returning from the semester break the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's hockey team heads east to Regina to face the Regina Cougars for a pair of games.
The Pronghorns and Cougars will square off Friday night at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. CT. Both games will also be streamed live on

A look at the teams
The Pronghorns (4-10-0-2) enter the second semester seven points out of a playoff spot and will look to build off a weekend split with the UBC Thunderbirds that concluded the first semester of Canada West action.
Looking at the Pronghorns statistically, one area that will need to improve if they are to have a successful second half of the season is the offensive production. The Pronghorns have scored the second fewest goals in Canada West with 17 and have been shutout on six occasions.
Defensively, the Pronghorns are tied for sixth in goals against, allowing 37 goals but have the third best penalty killing in Canada West at 91.2%.
The Cougars (6-6-1-3) begin 2019 in fifth place, only one point out of fourth place but also only two points ahead of the Mount Royal Cougars.
Through 16 games, the Cougars sit fourth in Canada West goals scored with 29 but have allowed the second most against, surrendering 38 goals against. Only the Calgary Dinos have allowed more goals against.
Regina swept the Pronghorns in Lethbridge earlier this season with 2-0 and 4-3 victories.
Players to watch
Fourth-year goaltender Alicia Anderson remains ranked among the best goaltenders in Canada West. Anderson is tied for the conference lead in shutouts with four and leads Canada West with 444 saves. Her 1.95 goals-against average sits seventh and ranks fourth in save percentage (0.943%).
Tricia Van Vaerenbergh leads the Pronghorns in scoring with five goals and two assists but has been held scoreless the last nine games. Her five goals however still places her among the top 10 in Canada goal scoring.
For the Cougars, fourth-year forward Jaycee Magwood leads the Cougars in points with 11, while Emma Waldenberger leads the Cougars in goals with six.
In the crease, Jane Kish has made 10 appearances and holds a 2.22 goals-against average and 0.918 save percentage.
