A look at the teams
At the midpoint of the Canada West schedule, the Pronghorns (6-6-1-1) sit sixth in the conference but the standings are tight, as only six points separates first and sixth. The Pronghorns also sit only two points out of third.
Statistically, the Pronghorns sit third in goals with 29 goals for and have dropped to eighth in goals against, allowing 35 goals against. Speciality teams have hampered the 'Horns through the first half of the season, with the power play (8.2%) ranked eighth and the penalty killing (81%) sitting in seventh.
Kyra Greig and Alli Borrow continue to lead the Pronghorns in scoring with nine points each. Greig sits with four goals and five assists, while Borrow leads the team with eight assists.
Tricia Van Vaerenbergh leads the 'Horns with six goals.
Senior goaltender Alicia Anderson moved into four on the Canada West all-time games played list with 107 and holds a 2.31 goals-against average and a 0.930 save percentage in 12 games this season.
The 2018 U SPORTS champion Manitoba Bisons (3-10-0-1) have had a tough first half of the season but have had 10 first year players seeing time in the line up this season.
The biggest struggle for the Bisons through 14 games has been their inability to score as they have only scored 12 goals and have been shutout seven times this year. Defensively, the Bisons are ranked sixth with 33 goals against, but hold the top ranked penalty killing (91.7%) in Canada West.
Emilie Masse leads the Bisons in goal scoring with four and is tied with Jenai Buchanan with five points for the team lead in points.
