A Look at the Teams

After opening the season with two ties, the Pronghorns (0-2-2) were on the wrong end of the scoreboard last weekend versus Pacific Division teams. The Pronghorns opened the weekend with a tough 2-1 loss to the Victoria Vikes and were then beat by the visiting UBC Thunderbirds 4-0 to wrap up the weekend.

Raeleen Vanden Dungen scored the lone goal for the Pronghorns on the weekend and is now tied for the team lead in goals with Jesse Dueck and first-year striker Tory Clements, each have scored once through four games.

Hanna Quinn and Chelsey Galbraith have split the goaltending duties thus far and have identical stats, both have allowed four goals against and made 17 saves in the two game each of them have played.

Friday's opponent, the Timberwolves (2-1-1) sit in the middle of the Pacific Division through four games but are coming off a one point road weekend after getting beat 3-1 by the Saskatchewan Huskies and battling the Regina Cougars to a 1-1 draw.

Through four games UNBC has scored six times, while allowing 4 goals against. Sofia Jones and Paige Payne lead the Timberwolves with two goals each.

A familiar foe for the Pronghorns, the Calgary Dinos (3-0-1) are playing in the Pacific Division this season and sit tied for the division lead with the Trinity Western Spartans thus far. Last weekend, the Dinos beat the Regina Cougars 4-0 before dispatching the Saskatchewan Huskies 2-1.

The Dinos have been on an offensive roll through the first two weekends of Canada West action, averaging three goals game, while only allowing two goals against total in four contests.
