LETHBRIDGE – With one game to play in the 2021 Canada West regular season, the Lethbridge Pronghorn men's soccer team will host the Mount Royal Cougars Saturday afternoon at the University Community Stadium.

The Pronghorns and Cougars as slated to square-off at 2:15 pm. Proof of vaccination or a negative rapid test with government issued ID is required to attend Pronghorn home games

The game will also be streamed live on www.canadawest.tv, presented by Co-op.

During the opening weekend of the season, the Cougars edged the Pronghorns 1-0 at the University Community Stadium.

Saturday will also mark the final home game for two graduating Pronghorns, as Nolan French and Jitse Van den Hadelkamp will wear the Pronghorn jersey one last time.

A look at the teams

Coming off a tie in their last outing last weekend on the road, the Pronghorns (0-7-2) will look to finish the season on a high note. Despite only earning a tie on home field this season, the Pronghorns have played well at home, all three home losses have been by a single goal.

The trio of Karim Bey, Will Hughes and Landon Veluw are tied for the team lead in goals with two.

The Division leading Mount Royal Cougars (5-1-3) will attempt to hold on to the top spot this weekend but are closely pursued by the Calgary Dinos. The Cougars hold a two point advantage over the Dinos but the Dinos have two games remaining this weekend.

With 25 goals scored this season in nine game, the Cougars lead all of Canada West in this category, however that stat is a bit misleading as the Cougars scored 12 goals in one game versus the MacEwan Cougars.

Mohamed El gandour and David Schaefer lead the Cougars in scoring with seven and five goals respectively.
