LETHBRIDGE – Starting a new era, the Lethbridge Pronghorn men's soccer team heads out on the road to open the new Canada West season, traveling to Saskatoon to face the Saskatchewan Huskies.

A year ago the Huskies swept the Pronghorns in a two game set in Saskatoon. The Pronghorns will host the second game of the season series during the final weekend of the conference schedule, October 22
nd.
A Look at the teams
Under the guidance of first-year Head Coach Davin Haigh, the Pronghorns will look to get the season off on the right foot on the road. Through training camp and three non-conference games, the team has worked to implement the structure and style that Haigh would like the Pronghorns to play this season.
A year ago the Pronghorns missing the post-season with a 0-8-2 record but have a strong core of returning players. Headlined by Karim Bey and Will Hughes, who tied for the team lead in goals last season, 22 players return this season.
Newcomers Tegan Romaine (Goalkeeper, Abbotsford, BC), Magnus Engleson (Fullback, Kamloops, BC) and Cole Jackson (Striker, Kamloops, BC) will look to have an impact in their first seasons with the Pronghorns.
The Huskies, who also missed the post season with a 3-5-2 record will look to return to playoffs in 2022.
A year ago, the Huskies were ranked fifth in both goals scored and allowed, scoring 17 goals in 10 games, while surrendering 15 goals against.
Leading goal scorer Kuhle Bekwayo returns to lead the Huskies attack this season. Bekwayo accounted for four of the Huskies 17 goals last season.
