LETHBRIDGE – After getting the season started on the road last weekend, the Lethbridge Pronghorn men's soccer team hits their home turf hosting a pair of games in the 2022 home opening weekend.

Friday night, the Pronghorns welcome the MacEwan Griffins to Lethbridge, kick-off is slated for 5:00pm. Sunday afternoon, the Pronghorns take on the Alberta Golden Bears at 2:15pm. Both games will be streamed live on www.canadawest.tv.

A look at the teams

The Pronghorns (0-1-0) opened the season last weekend in Saskatoon and after a nearly two hour weather delay, the Huskies took advantage of a trio of Pronghorn mistakes en route to the win.

This weekend, the Pronghorns will welcome back starters David Musk and Alasdair Coyle after serving their one game suspension that carried over from last season and will have their full line this weekend.

Last weekend, the MacEwan Griffins (0-1-1) opened their season at home and dropped a 3-0 decision in their opener versus the Mount Royal Cougars and then battled the Calgary Dinos to a 1-1 draw.

In their season series a year ago in Edmonton, the Griffins beat the Pronghorns 5-1 and then battled to a 2-2 tie.

Facing the same two teams last weekend, the Alberta Golden Bears (0-0-2) battled to a pair of 1-1 ties with the Dinos and Cougars. Habib Assem scored both Bears goals in the opening weekend.

A year ago, the Bears went 1-0-1 versus the Pronghorns in Lethbridge, with a 2-1 win and a 1-1 tie.
