LETHBRIDGE – Completing a busy stretch of games in a short period of time, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's soccer team will host a pair of games this weekend, welcoming the MacEwan Griffins and Alberta Pandas to town.

The Pronghorns will take on the Griffins Saturday and then face the Pandas on Sunday. Both games kick off at the Community Sports Stadium at 12:00 pm and will be streamed live on www.canadawest.tv.

A look at the teams

The Pronghorns (0-4-2) will complete a stretch of five games in eight days this weekend after having played last weekend and then again on Tuesday night. This past Tuesday night's game was a make-up game from September 11th, when their game in Abbotsford versus the Cascades was postponed due to air quality issues.

Over the last three games, the Pronghorns earned their first points of the season with a pair of ties with the UBCO Heat and Cascades.

Striker Hailey Slobodian has had a coming out party this year offensively. The second-year East Paul, Manitoba product leads the Pronghorns in scoring with three goals and three assists in six games this season.

The defending U SPORTS Champion MacEwan Griffins (4-2-0) look to have found their stride and sit atop the Prairie Division standings after winning both of their games last weekend at home. The Griffins beat UNBC 3-0 and the Calgary Dinos 1-0.

Grace Mwasalla leads the Griffins offensively with four goals, while Erin Van Dolder sits second with three goals.

The Alberta Pandas (3-2-1) enter the weekend unbeaten in their last three games with two wins and a tie. Last weekend, the Pandas beat the Calgary Dinos 2-1 and tied UNBC 2-2 at home. Prior to coming to Lethbridge the Pandas will play Saturday in Calgary versus the Mount Royal Cougars.

The duo of Adrienne Poulin and Erin Hope lead the Pandas offensively. Poulin leads the Pandas with three goals, while Hope has recorded two goals and four assists.
