A look at the teams
After opening the season on the road, the Pronghorns (0-0-3) returned home last weekend and were on the wrong end of two one goal games, losing 3-2 to the MacEwan Griffins on a late penalty kick and 2-1 to the Alberta Golden Bears.
Fourth-year midfielder Danilo Morales had a breakout weekend offensively, having a hand in all three goals. Morales scored both goals Friday night and set up the lone goal against the Bears on Sunday.
Mount Royal (2-0-1) holds an early lead in the Prairie standings and is coming off a 2-1 win over the Calgary Dinos in the first installment of the Crowchild Classic.
Through three games, the Cougars are averaging two goals for per game and are led by the duo of Mohamad El Gandour and David Schaefer with two goals each. El Gandour also has two assists to lead the Cougar in scoring.
The Calgary Dinos (0-1-2) opened the season with two ties before the loss last week at the hands of the Mount Royal Cougars.
Offensively, the Dinos have had three different goal scorers this year thus far, while allowing four goals against.
