LETHBRIDGE – The Pronghorns battled until the end in the Sunday afternoon game of their home opener weekend but couldn't withstand the Bisons as Camila Goldsztein scored two goals past Bridie Harding.

An early goal by third-year Bison, Camila Goldsztein off an assist by fifth-year Nicole Davis on the first drive of the game put the Pronghorns down by one to start the game against the Manitoba Bisons. The Horns faced the Bisons in their second game of the home opener weekend, defeating the Winnipeg Wesmen 3-2 in the Saturday afternoon game. The Bisons were shut out in their first match of the season, losing to the Calgary Dinos 4-0 in their meeting on the previous day.

Horns rookies connected for a chance to tie the game, as Nicola Hutton narrowly missed wide on a shot on net from a pass from Myah Stemmann in the ninth minute of the game. The Pronghorns were successful in tying the game, as Hailey Slobodian scored her first goal of the 2023-2024 season as she beat the Bisons defender up the middle.

The tie didn't last long, as Goldsztein scored her second goal of the match for the Bisons with an assist from Jessica Tsai in the fortieth minute of the first half. In the second half, the Horns and Bisons exchanged shots, but neither team was able to capitalize. Lucy Mundy had one more shot for the Horns in extra time but was unable to find the back of the net.
