Male Athlete of the Week:
Domenic Rigaux – Men’s Soccer
 
 
Heading into another important weekend, fifth-year defender Domenic Rigaux played an integral role in the Pronghorns successful two-game road trip and extending the men's soccer team winning streak to five games.
 
Riguax led the ‘Horns defense to two shutout wins on the road that started with the CIS top ranked Alberta Golden Bears Saturday afternoon. The high powered Bears had scored 39 goals heading into Saturday and had yet to lose a game all season. The ‘Horns held the Bears to only one shot on goal en route to a 1-0. The only other time the Bears had been shutout this season was a 0-0 tie on the road at UBC.
 
Rigaux and the ‘Horns continued their strong defensive play the next day on a short turn around, beating the MacEwan Griffins 2-0 Sunday. Due to weather concerns in Edmonton, Saturday’s game was delayed until 4:30 and Sunday’s kick-off was scheduled for noon.
 
The ‘Horns host the Calgary Dinos and Mount Royal Cougars this weekend and look to solidify a post-season position. The ‘Horns are two points ahead of the Saskatchewan Huskies for the final spot.
