Lethbridge, AB – The Two Guys and a Pizza Place Pronghorn Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 11, 2018.
Female Athlete of the Week:
Zoe Dahl – Women’s Basketball
Playing in her final game as a Pronghorns, fifth-year guard Zoe Dahl saved her best for last, playing arguably the best game of her career in the Pronghorns close 77-73 playoff loss to the UBC Thunderbirds.
Dahl led all scorers with 25 points on 10-for-20 shooting, including three from behind the arc. She also finished with five rebounds, three assists and three steals, playing all but four minutes.
During her senior season, Dahl tied for the team lead in scoring with 12.2 points per game and her leadership will be sorely missed next season but has been a key part of the program's growth over the past three seasons.
Male Athlete of the Week:
Andreas Troschke – Men’s Track
First-year thrower Andreas Troschke continues to impress in his first season with the Pronghorns, winning his second weight throw meet of the season and setting a new personal best.
The Olds, Alberta product took home top spot at the Panda Open with a furthest toss of 16.91 metres. He also won gold at the Golden Bear Open earlier this season and was second at the Bison Classic in Winnipeg.
Heading into the Canada West Championship in two weeks, Troschke sits first in the Canada West rankings and second in the national rankings.
Troschke and the rest of the Pronghorn qualifiers will compete in the Canada West Championships February 23rd and 24th in Winnipeg.
