Male Athlete of the Week:
Chase Schaber – Men’s Hockey
Freshman Chase Schaber is making quite the first impression during his rookie season, earning his second Subway athlete of the week award after another solid performance last weekend.
In the weekend opener versus the Regina Cougars Friday night, Schaber scored his first CIS goal and added an assist in the ‘Horns 4-3 loss.
The next night in the ‘Horns 5-2 loss, the Red Deer, Alberta native, picked up his second goal of the weekend, picking the top corner on the power play. His goal tied the game at two, after the ‘Horns had fallen behind 2-0.
Through four games this season, Schaber is tied for second in scoring among Canada West freshmen with two goals and three assists.
