Lethbridge, AB - The Pronghorn Athletes of the Week for the week ending October 16, 2011

 

Female Athlete of the Week:

 

Kayla Moleschi – Women’s Rugby

Freshman Kayla Moleschi is off to a great start to her colligate career. In the final conference game of the season, the fullback from Williams Lake was electric on attack on the stadium turf. Her two tries paced the Horns to a 51-7 win over the University of Calgary to seal a perfect 4-0 regular season.

On defence her small stature was not an issue as she inspired her team with several strong tackles on Calgary’s large players. She showed her versatility by playing two different positions in the win under the lights.

The Canadian senior sevens member, finishing tied for second in tries scored in Canada West,  scoring five tries in four conference games.

The ‘Horns will travel to Calgary this weekend for the Canada West Championships, facing the Victoria Vikes in the first semi-final Friday afternoon
