This achievement is truly the result of our collective teamwork."
Irish also credited his time with the Pronghorns program and the University of Lethbridge for his development and success.
"My experience at the University of Lethbridge and with the Pronghorns has been essential in getting me here. Their coaching, encouragement and belief in me have meant a great deal."
With the Games just weeks away, Irish is focused and excited for the opportunity to compete on the world stage.
"I'm really looking forward to competing in Germany this summer and testing myself against some of the best athletes in the world. Representing Canada will be an unforgettable experience and I'm incredibly excited to have been selected."
