Female Athlete of the Week:
Kirsten Reeves – Women’s Hockey
Sophomore Kirsten Reeves led the way offensively last weekend as the ‘Horns earned three of four possible points in their weekend series in Regina this past weekend versus the Regina Cougars.
While the ‘Horns failed to score and lost 1-0 in overtime Friday night, Reeves was a constant threat offensively all game, recording seven of the ‘Horns 26 shots on goal.
Saturday night, Reeves scored twice to lead the ‘Horns to a 4-3 come from behind win over the Cougars. Her first goal tied the game at two and after the Cougars went up 3-2, she scored her second of the night, unassisted, to tie the game again.
With three goals in four games, Reeves has accounted for nearly half of the ‘Horns goals scored this season and is tied for second in the conference for goals.
